OPERATOR GUIDE: IQ (thanks soonyoung)
OVERVIEW:
One of the more worthy operators in the game on the offense; she’s one of a kind. With the ability to see electronics through walls, she’s quite effective against mute and other electronic based operators. She’s also a direct counter to pulse which I’ll get to later and can do a few tricks up her sleeves. Her guns are good and she’s a great operator for more advanced players.
GUNS:
Arguably, her best gun is the Aug. The Aug has low recoil, adequate fire rate, and great stability. Paired with compensator it’s a great gun. Suppressor is really nice since it already has high damage anyways so that damage drop won’t affect you. Besides, the fire rate is on the higher side (it’s still low compared to other offensive guns), but fast nevertheless. Her AUG is great with ACOG and HOLO, but ACOG is recommended because it pairs great with its low recoil. The Reflex and Red dot are OK, but it comes down to personal preference. Her AUG is a must pick for beginners.
After that, her 2 remaining weapons are pretty much equal in strength. The 552 Commando or 552 is extremely high damage but has the kick of Vincent after he drank 16 gallons of moonshine. It’s VERY hard to control and I wouldn’t recommend it to beginners or even intermediate players. It has VERY bad recoil, and VERY low fire rate. However, it hits like a freaking rocket. It does 52 damage I think, and on burst, the recoil is somewhat manageable. If anything, avoid Auto on this gun. Burst is MUCH MUCH better than auto. The 552 is good for long range engagements so ACOG is recommended. Suppressor feels nice, because it sounds like Vincent crying for his mommy at night or Jeff raging super hard after a League game without it (although Jeff hasn't played a league game in 2 years). Angled grip is the grip I’m using currently.
The last light machine gun sucks with bad recoil and pretty low damage. Stay away from it lol.
HOW TO USE HER (ADVANCED):
This guide is meant for people who know somewhat the basics of IQ.
IQ is meant as somewhat of a passive aggressive style operator. She can be aggressive and help pick off some kills. However, that may cause your team to lose a valuable skill if you die early on. IQ is better being played slowly to help your thatcher take out some gadgets or counter Valkyrie. IQ is extremely good against pulse especially. Most pulses play within objective (I’ll elaborate in the Pulse guide). Pulses are not supposed to roam too far away and will usually stay in the same area as the objective (usually different floors). IQ can easily counter pulse or expose him, completely making him vulnerable. A good IQ is usually quite passive and is not meant to earn kills easily. You should do that; it’s a good play. IQ is NOT meant for rushing as her gadget is oriented towards partner play. It works out great with another operator with good COMMUNICATION. An IQ that dies early on (even if she picks off people) causes her team to lose a valuable asset and possibly lose the round. As an IQ player, you must be cautious, be patient, and help your team out. By doing so, you’ll live and be able to help your team and get kills possibly. You’ll also get rid of pulse especially. By the way, IQ can actually see through smoke if you take out her gadget.
HOW TO COUNTER HER:
As I said, IQ mains are extremely passive aggressive and will not hesitate to rush due to her frags and 3 speed. IQ is quite dangerous when ignored and can make a mute or bandit lose their purpose if an IQ is really good. To counter her, make sure you know where she is first. IQ’s typically hang around their teammates as support merely. An aggressive IQ can be taken out easily if you focus. But smart IQ players will NOT rush. Most IQ’s are quite slow and patient, and taking out gadgets instead of people; which is a problem later on. A thermite could blow up a reinforced wall that had been bandit charged, but was taken out by IQ. To counter her, one must anticipate where she is first, by finding where every other member of her team is. IQ will be next to at least one buddy to have back up just in case, so when hunting IQ, expect another person to be there. IQ’s are also weak in her gadget mode, if you hear her pistol shooting, then she’s most likely in gadget mode; that is your best time to rush her and wreck her. IQ’s are normally patient so don’t be disappointed if you can’t get her first thing. Mainly, getting a Thermite, Thatcher, Blackbeard, or Ash is much better target than IQ. JUST WATCH OUT FOR THAT BOOTY.
